POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM AT SRISA
SRISA offers
both a
4 month long Post-Graduate Certificate
in Visual Art and an
8 month long
Post-Graduate Masters Diploma in Visual
Art.
Both offer participants the opportunity to work in a
professional environment and help artists make the
transition from a structured academic curriculum to an
established working practice.
Participants in the Certificate program will take part in a four month long curriculum dedicated to studio work, intense critique, art theory, portfolio seminar, and the staging of a a collaborative exhibition. Participants pursuing the eight month Masters Diploma, will follow a similar curriculum for the first four months. The result of which will be the proposal of a masters thesis which they will develop over the course of the second half of the program culminating in a solo exhibition and written thesis.
All students are provided with a shared studio space and are paired with a practicing artist-mentor to provide valuable feedback. Through studio visits and lectures all will have the opportunity to meet professional artists working in a range of media. Every student having completed either course of study will have consolidated their work into a specialized artist’s portfolio that will allow them to embark on their careers as skilled and highly organized professional artists.
